Free and Forced Oscillations
This program investigates free oscillations and forced oscillations including resonance. Each motion is damped so the effect of damping can be investigated.
An electromagnet can attract the magnet and release it so that it bounces freely. The electromagnet can force the magnet to bounce by switching on at regular intervals. The forcing frequency can be altered and resonance observed. Displacement / time graphs and resonance curves can be plotted and printed. Light, medium and critical damping can chosen to investigate different levels of damping.
