The Frequency of Sound
This program shows a signal generator, oscilloscope and loudspeaker. The signal generator can produce waves with various amplitudes and frequencies in the audio range. The oscilloscope shows the shape of these waves and has a scale with time-base control that allows you to measure the period and frequency of the waves. The loudspeaker can be switched on to convert the electrical waves into sound. There is also a harmonic generator that can add harmonics to the fundamental wave to show the effect on the shape of the sound and its quality.
