Digital Sound

This program allows you to 'sample' a sound wave and convert the sample values into binary numbers. These can then be 'transmitted' as light pulses along an optical fibre. It models the way sounds are transmitted digitally by telephones and in computers. You can alter the sample rate and listen to the effect it has on the transmitted sound. You can also alter the frequency and amplitude of the original sound.

To get the program click the 'Download' button.  Choose the 'Save to disc' option. After it has  downloaded, find the file and virus check it.  Then click the little computer logo and PhysicsLab will be installed.
